What is Klara Voice-Upgrade?

Klara Voice-Upgrade is for people who already own Klara and later want her to hear and speak.

It adds the same local voice stack as Klara-Voice: Whisper-family speech-to-text and Kokoro spoken replies, with microphone, output, and voice controls.

It is not a second licence and not a subscription. It unlocks voice on a machine that already has Klara.

Who it is for

  • Klara owners who started with text and now want hands-free
  • Accessibility and desk work without buying the full Voice licence again
  • One existing Klara activation on Kubuntu, Ubuntu, or another Debian-based KDE desktop

If you do not yet own Klara, buy Klara-Voice (£49) instead — it is the complete licence, cheaper than Klara plus this upgrade.

Requirements

  • An existing Klara licence on the machine you upgrade
  • A working microphone and speakers or headset
  • NVIDIA CUDA recommended for voice (RTX 20-series or newer, 8 GB VRAM comfortable)

How you install

  1. Pay with the Tide button on this page (use the same email as your Klara purchase where you can).
  2. Save the klara-voice-upgrade-setup attachment and double-click it.
  3. Open Klara. She downloads Voice (about 8 GB) and installs it. Your existing Klara licence stays put.
